NO class exchange with Rosetta

Dear all,
Just agreed with Rosetta that the excursion to IJburg net Thursday will be a shared class. So NO class on Monday. The excursion to the Boijmans will be moved to Thursday 10 November. Meet in front of museum at 14h.

I will come along to IJBURG and would like to suggest that we do an alternative program between 13.30 and 15.30, replacing the following lectures:
13.30 – 14.30 Key note speaker Fabio Gramazio (Gramazio & Kohler) about digital bricklaying techniques
14.30 – 15.00 Lecture by Irma van Oort (KCAP) about bricklaying in international projects
15.00 – 15.30 R-O-B bricklaying robot / Coffee break

You will be back in time for this lecture:
15.30 – 16.15 Lecture by Jan Peter Wingender (Wingender Hovenier architecten) about bricklaying and tectonics

Is that OK with you?

Control Room

Today in the news: A woman found her stolen bag for sale on E-bay. She made a deal to buy it and agreed to meet at Schiphol Airport. As she was handing over the money, the thief was arrested by the Airport Police.
I thought how stupid that thief had been to agree to meet at the airport. He must have considered it as being Public Space....

We are all familiar with airport space, but actually it is quite a new phenomenon.  In fact, one generation ago flying was for the happy few and airports looked quite different...

Why this blog?

Contemplatorium: Vortex van kunstenaar Rob Sweere

Dear students,
While you are all gone to make a forest, I decided to spend the time allocated to our lesson to create this blog. The idea behind it is, that we communicate through this blog. It is only meant for our group so feel free to post ideas, doubts and developments. I will use it to comment on your work and you can use it to comment on each others work. It will be the place where I will gradually elaborate on the theme "Installation Architecture" and by doing so, I hope in the end it gives an overview of what it is we have actually been doing during the first semester.
